Greenway Ecological Standing Committee

Dear Greenway ESC Members and Interested Parties,

A meeting of the GESC has been scheduled for  Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Niagara Power Vista Community Room in Lewiston, NY.  The meeting will start after the Niagara ESC meeting which is slated to run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. An agenda for the meeting is attached. Topics for discussion include the Niagara River Riparian Restoration Program (NRRRP) funding proposal sponsored by the Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper which was previously emailed to the group. The NYSDEC has prepared a set of comments on the proposal and they are attached for your review. 

Also attached is a proposal from the NYS College of Environmental Science and Forestry to investigate muskellunge ecology in the Buffalo Harbor and upper Niagara River .  As I told you in a previous email this group had requested an extension for filing of their proposal which was agreed upon by those members who responded to an email poll. The proposal is attached to this email for your review and discussion at the meeting. The project sponsors have initiated consultation for a consistency determination with the NR Greenway Commission which has not yet ruled on the project.
