- Next
meeting will be in July to discuss protocols.
- Representatives
and alternates for the Greenway ESC are the following:
Russ Biss
– NYSDEC representative, Joe Galati – alternate
Ed Alkiewicz – NYPA representative,
Jeff Gerlach– alternate
Julie O’Neill – NREC
representative, no alternate yet; NREC will be meeting in June to decide.
Amy Roe - USFWS representative, Steve
Patch – alternate.
Nations haven’t designated
representatives yet.
- Need
to have letters designating representatives by 6/30/08.
- NYPA
to send gentle reminders to those groups who haven’t designated their
representatives and alternates.
- No
nominations for Vice Chairperson.
Need nomination from one of Three Nations. Election will be via
email by the end of July.
- Funding
priority is for ecological projects that create and support uses within
the Niagara Greenway and priority should be given to the focus area identified
in the Greenway Plan. Eligibility
of projects should be that defined in the Greenway Plan.
- Each
organization on the Greenway ESC needs to talk to their group about
multi-year projects applications and funding caps so that it can be
discussed at next meeting.
- For
funding protocols, weave criteria language from HERF into Greenway
criteria.
- Require
consultation with Greenway Commission and municipality where the project
is located.
- Require
pre-application
consultation with applicant.
- Draft
protocols by end of July and notice that we will accept applications after
they are finalized (September). Use
the same date as the Greenway application date. Announce awards at end of September.
- NYPA
will do meeting notes.
- NYPA
will circulate STL protocols.
- NYPA
to draft protocols for project funding decisions for Greenway Ecological
Fund.
- NYPA
can summarize relevant project criteria language for the HERF in the
Settlement Agreement that could be used for Greenway project funding
protocols and email.
