 Recreation Enhancement Projects

Improvements to recreational facilities operated by NYPA and OPRHP on lands within or in the vicinity of the Niagara Project boundary.  NYPA will spend nearly $6 million dollars on capital improvements to enhance public access to the river in the area of the project, including additional parking for anglers and others.  The OPRHP efforts are supported by a nearly $9.3 million fund NYPA has established for this purpose. 

 The NYPA projects include:

(1)   Upper Mountain Trail and Parking Lot development;

(2)   Robert Moses Fishing Pier Parking enhancements;

(3)   Upper Niagara Intake Structure site improvements.

            The OPRHP projects include:

(1)   Reservoir State Park

(2)   Niagara River Gorge Trails

(3)   Earl W. Brydges Artpark
