BUFFALO AND ERIE COUNTY GREENWAY STANDING COMMITTEE SETS JANUARY 22, 2016 DEADLINE FOR PROJECT APPLICATIONS
BUFFALO - The Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Fund Standing Committee has set January 22 as the deadline for submission of projects to be considered in the next round of funding.
The Committee receives funds from New York Power Authority (NYPA), as part of the relicensing of NYPA’s Niagara Hydroelectric Power Project in 2007. During the 50-year term of the license, the Committee will receive $2 million a year. It is composed of one representative from Erie County, Buffalo, Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and NYPA.
To date, the Committee has reviewed more than 67 projects and approved support to 39 projects. In all, the Fund has received $16 million in payments from NYPA and committed more than $13.5 million to projects, some of which are multiple-year awards. Of the 39 projects, 29 have successfully completed the work the Committee funded; another 10 are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
More information regarding the application is available at the Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Standing Committee website at http://bit.ly/1IkM7pP.
